Chef Night Featuring Barton Seaver, in support of Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association
Join us for a new kitchen feature night where we host a guest chef, and a foodways related nonprofit. We will have a special menu item, and 20% of sales from all food (both dine in or to-go) from 4pm-8pm will be donated to the guest nonprofit.
For our first Chef Night, we will be hosting Barton Seaver, and the Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association. Barton Seaver is one of the world’s leading sustainable seafood experts and educators. Before leaving the restaurant industry to pursue his interests in sustainable food systems, he was an award-winning chef leading top seafood restaurants in Washington, DC. As the Director of the Sustainable Seafood and Health Initiative at the Harvard School of Public Health, Barton led initiatives to inform consumers and institutions about how our choices for diet and menus can promote healthier people, resilient ecosystems, more secure food supplies, and thriving communities.
Our Specials for the evening will include:
Pizza: White pizza with Pecorino Romano, butter onions, and garlic, topped with arugula and mint in a light lemon vinaigrette, and draped with cold smoked salmon
Salad: Orange and fennel salad with smoked anchovy vinaigrette
Maine Coast Fishermen Association will be on hand selling copies of their cookbook Catch, and Barton Seaver’s cookbooks American Seafood and The Joy of Seafood will be available for purchase.
